Ole Frimer Band

The singer and guitarist Ole Frimer is, with his unique "flesh to string" - technique, both nationally and internationally award-winning. By 2011, when he received BankNordiks Honorary Award for his many years on the Danish and international music scenes. With a past in the legendary Blue Junction and a past in close collaboration with Peter Thorup, Ole Frimer is today touring with his own band, where he perhaps more than ever is looking for ways to build bridges within elements of the music.

Danish -language texts is gaining more and more ground in the concert repertoire, but there is obviously still plenty of room for blues traditions. The band is now one of the busiest in Denmark when it comes to the blue universe, with concerts at Skanderborg Festival, Malmö Festival, Roskilde Jazz Festival, Nibe Festival, Copenhagen Blues Festival and many many more.

The main sources of inspiration are to be found in the southern United States. In particular, the Texas - blues taken its toll, but also Tex-Mex and soul artists have influenced his musical development. In this context, it is almost inevitable to mention his collaboration with American Alan Haynes, with whom he in the autumn of 2014 set up a good 14 days long tour to the delight of a total thrilled Danish blues audience.

Ole Frimer is today one of Denmark's most prominent blue figures with large audiences everywhere. With 9 mainly self-composed CDs behind him, Ole Frimer gained international recognition and experience. In 2001 he was with the band Blue Junction, as the first Danes ever, awarded the American Real Blues Award in the category "Best Live European Blues Recording" and in 2004 the award for "Best Foreign Blues Act". With the same band, he received the Danish Music Awards - Folk 2008 award for "Best Danish Blue Album".
