It has been a few years since I heard Thorbjørn Risager the first time. He had just released his Live album. I believe this was back in 2004. Since then only 2 band members have changed, and I think you can really feel this in theyre energetic style of playing together.
Thorbjørn and the crew went on stage and gave a hell of a performance, and I could notice something going on in the brass ensamble. It got my attention before and during the concert, that Peter Kehl (trumpet) was giving detailed instructions to the saxophonist. He gave them in a way that looked all fatherly and also in a subtle way, so that you really had to look closely to see what was going on. Later during the concert Thorbjørn told the audience that this was the first time he had ever meet the saxophonist, wich explained what I had picked up about the instructions. Here I have to mention that I never during the gig felt, that this was the first time that the guys had played together with the saxophonist, impressive.
The setlist included a few of the older tunes and of cause a large selection of tracks from the new album "Too Many Roads".
I for one really enjoyed this performance, and I will be back!
